One of the unique things about paddles is that they can have a message on them that conveys what they are used for. Unlike The Switch, The Hairbrush, The Cane, or The Belt, paddles have space for a story.
In today’s blogpost we have a peek at a few warnings that paddles can convey to the bare bottoms out there that earn them. Here’s one set from SouthSpanking.com that caught our attention.
We’d never heard “Let’s paint the cheeks red.” That’s a first for us. But we thought this one works well to hang on the wall of the kitchen or bedroom:
“If you like to fib or lie, I will Spank you, till you cry.”

While the others are good, this one seems to be National Paddle Week’s winner.

As a kid traveling on summer holiday, I remember seeing the “Cute Little Deer With The Bear Behind” paddle on display in a roadside Gift Shop. What really caught my eye (and my imagination) was the cleverly unmistakable reference to ‘bare bottom spanking.’ I mean, it was one thing to be actively promoting the corrective warming of a naughty child’s backside, but here was a wooden paddle plainly intended for a completely pants-down application. Wickedly provocative! 😉

Yes, so here in Winchester, Virginia, there was a paddle called “Dad’s Helping Hand” that I bought in the last 10 years or so at Dinosaurland. It was surprising to me. I suspect, however, with the rise of Corporal Punishment in Missouri schools (heaven forbid parents take some responsibility!), we may indeed start seeing these at gift shops all across the country again.
